News from the pews

26 June

Good morning all!

What a week... Assuming you can get to church without risking melting all week, it is actually one of the cooler places to be, and will be open until 2.30pm today as usual: all are welcome to drop in for sanctuary and/or respite from the heat.

Here are some brief headlines:

First and foremost, the situation in Venezuela is appalling. Christian Aid has launched an appeal. If you'd like to donate to it, here is a link: Venezuela Earthquake Appeal | Donate

Back at home, the July/Aug. edition of Jigsaw is available here https://online.fliphtml5.com/jdagj/July-Aug-26 and in hard copy soon to be available in church and through some letterboxes. Thanks as ever to all involved in the distribution process.

July- Oct. What's On leaflets for church services and events should be available for the taking in church from 10am on Sunday.

And finally, this coming Sunday 28th is an all age service at 10am. Set readings are Jeremiah 28: 5-9; Romans 6: 12-end; and Matthew 10: 40 - end. I could do with borrowing some sets of dominoes, which I might invite children and young people to do something with during the course of the service... If you have any you could lend me, please could you bring them to church on the day? (No collectors items, please, though none should get damaged/eaten, I hope...)

I'll end this here: perhaps see you Sunday

Very best

Eleanor
