Children and Church

Children and their families

Stained glass window with children

Our church community organises a number of groups for children and young people and their families. For information about these , follow the links in the left margin or find us on facebook:

Children and young people are very welcome at all our services. There is a toilet at the back of the church with a potty and changing table, and a well-stocked children's area towards the front.

At 10am services there are usually organised children's activities in church in the meeting room, which children are very welcome to join in with.

All-Age Services

On the third Sunday of the month our 10am service is prepared with children in mind. The service includes an informal talk and is slightly shorter than our other 10am services. It usually includes Communion (check out our church calendar for details - 'Eucharist' means it is a Communion service). Children and adults who have been baptised outside a main Sunday service are encouraged to attend an all-age service after their baptism so they can be welcomed by our St Andrew's Church family.

Our Connection to Local Schools

We have strong links with St Andrew's School, which is a church school (see the St Andrew's School website), and with the other schools in Soham. Alongside friends from other churches, members of our ministry team regularly lead assemblies in all our local primary schools, and we are always delighted to be invited to help with other school activities such as helping with reading or 1:1 conversation or play. Some members of St Andrew's congregation serve as school governors.

We welcome school visits to church, whether in support of a particular learning theme, or to celebrate festivals and events during the Church or school year.
